The team behind the movement
A small band of rebels disrupting the world of work
Dom Jackman
Skye Robertson
Skye works tirelessly to make Escape an amazing place to work, and to enhance our impact so that we can change millions of people’s lives and change the working status quo. Before joining Escape, Skye worked at Startup Britain and think tank Centre for Entrepreneurs, traveling across the country designing initiatives to help support entrepreneurial ambitions across the UK. She sits on the advisory board of The Entrepreneurs Network, a think tank working on entrepreneurial policy and is a host for Rebel Book Club.
Elena Musgrave
Before joining Escape, Elena spent 10 fun-filled years in the fitness industry - but craving a change she started searching for something new and exciting and above all, purpose-driven. As our Head of Partnerships on our Shift product, Elena spends a lot of time talking to organisations who want to walk the talk and level up their People & Culture teams. In her spare time, Elena started her own online diverse and inclusive bookshop for kids and enjoys running (somewhat slowly).
Hilary Owen
Before joining Escape, Hilary worked in fashion brand and content marketing in London. She left in January 2021 to pursue a simpler life — starting with converting a campervan and subsequently spending the summer in Cornwall. She is now travelling around Northern Spain and Portugal, sampling the culinary delights and beautiful beaches on offer. Along with ensuring all the amazing opportunities at Escape The City are shared with the world, Hilary spends her time knitting, crocheting and running as a way to explore new places.
Charlotte Keys
Charlotte was in a high flying London Real Estate job and but yearned for a job with more purpose. As our Employer Happiness Officer, Charlotte looks after each and every one of our employers who post on our job board - ensuring each is well looked after throughout their whole journey working with Escape. If you ever speak to Charlotte talk to her about her experience on Big Brother with her mum!
OUR ADVISORS
Rob Symington
Rob left behind a career in management consulting to spend his days masterminding Escape’s expansion with Dom. Having successfully launched the School in 2014, Rob left the business full time to Escape to Porto and into his family business. Rob remains on the board of Escape and is our number 1 cheerleader.
Mikey Howe
Mikey joined Escape the City in 2011, and helped us to launch our first international test in New York City. After returning to the UK Mikey led on product and marketing before Escaping the city of London himself and moving to Bristol with his young family. Mikey currently is the CEO of web development agency Simple Web but remains on Escape’s board.
